I hired three new sales reps.

On their very first day taking calls, they started closing deals.

That honestly blew my mind. And after spending weeks thinking about why, here’s what I realized.

As a manager, my job is to set the foundation for success:

-> A strong sales script

-> Clear SOPs and processes

-> A motivating incentive structure

-> A culture that encourages winning

But beyond all of that, the real difference maker is this:

Self-motivated, driven, highly proactive reps who take the system and run with it.

You can build the best foundation and write the strongest scripts in the world.

But if the person using them doesn’t have the internal drive, none of it matters.

So this past week reminded me of something simple:

My role isn’t to push people forward.

It’s to build the runway.

The right people will take off on their own.

Try this out with your team.

See you in the next newsletter!
