Hey,

It’s been a minute since I sent a newsletter, huh?

I know… I’ve slacking 😩

Anyways:

Lately I’ve been obsessing over marketing and business videos on YouTube.

And I wanna share some highlights with you 🙂

#1: Finally letting go of the pressure to always be productive

If you’re anything like me, you probably have that voice in your head that says:

“Alif, stop wasting time. Be productive. You only have today. Make the most of it.”

That voice gets exhausting.

But then I watched this video that completely changed how I think about time.

Here’s what stuck with me:

  • You only get about 4,000 weeks in your life, which means it really matters how you spend them

  • Trying to do everything is a trap

  • The problem isn’t time, it’s perspective. We expect too much from a limited amount of time

  • You can’t do everything, and that’s okay. What matters is doing the right things with intention

In short: We’ll never be able to do everything, no matter how loud that “not enough” voice gets. And that’s okay. The key is accepting it and choosing to go all in on the things we can do.

#2: Here’s how to go viral in one niche and make lots of money

Ok, if you want to consistently go viral on social media in a specific niche and make money, here’s the blueprint:

Pick one topic.

Then make videos about it… over and over and over again.

Why? Because by mind numbingly posting content on the same topic, the algorithm starts to understand what you’re about.

And because of that, it will begin showing your videos to more people in that niche.

What you don’t want is to go viral for something that’s not in your niche.

If you go viral for balloon animals but your niche is online marketing, the algorithm gets confused and starts showing your videos to the wrong audience.

But honestly, my opinion?

That sounds really boring. Like, very boring. When I watched the video and heard that advice I thought, “yeah, no, I don’t want to do that.”

#3: “Barriers to entry” ← this is important

Let’s say you have a hotdog stand and you’re selling hotdogs on the street.

But down the street, there are three more hotdog stands selling to the same people walking by.

How do you get those people to come to your stand instead of the others?

By differentiating yourself.

In other words, to make people choose your stand over the others, you could:

  • Offer seating to people who buy your hotdogs

  • Make your hotdogs cheaper

  • Improve the quality of your hotdogs

  • Offer special condiments

Basically, do something that makes you different from the rest.

That’s what this video reminded me of.

It’s about a guy who runs faceless YouTube channels.

If you don’t know what that is, it means creating YouTube content using AI and automation, without using your face, and making money from it.

In the video, he shares how to choose a content style that stands out from others. Your content should:

• Have its own unique angle that others are not doing

• Require a skill set that most people do not have

• Be in a format or niche that is already getting lots of views

#4: Why you shouldn’t feel bad for having low views as a creator

Honestly, for the longest time I felt bad about barely getting any views on my YouTube channel.

I kept thinking I was doing something wrong.

But after watching this video, I didn’t feel so bad anymore.

The guy in the video is funny, and he basically says,

“Yeah, it’s really hard. Here’s why,” and then explains all the reasons.

One thing that really stuck with me was this:

Creating content isn’t just about making videos. It’s about marketing yourself, especially with YouTube long-form.

Think about it.

On TikTok and Instagram Reels, content gets pushed to you while you scroll.

But with YouTube long-form, people have to scroll through their feed and decide whether or not to click.

If someone is on a lunch break and wants to watch something quick, are they going to choose a video with 100 views or one from a creator they already know who has a million?

So you’re not just a creator. You have to sell yourself. You’re a salesperson and a marketer, convincing that person during their break that your video is worth watching.

That’s it from me.

I’ll see you in the next newsletter 🙂
